From Lance to Landis

7 Dec

Back in July, I got my very own autographed edition of the book Positively False by Floyd Landis at the Leadville Trail 100 race. It only took me about 3 hours to read as its double spaced and written for a 4th grade audience. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked the book and got sucked into the story. It’s very simply written and comes across like a casual conversation you might have with Floyd.

After finishing the book I declared to all my friends that Floyd was innocent. There is just no way he doped. I felt like Floyd and I were now friends and I would stick up for him whenever necessary. It took a whole book to convince me but I was now a believer.

Here he is with his royal fatness at Leadville. How could you not believe him?

Fast forward a few months and I’ve just finished From Lance to Landis by David Walsh.
A much meatier book than Floyd’s. I thought it was well researched and convincing. So convincing was it that after the very first chapter I abandoned Floyd’s camp and now firmly believe that he doped. I’m a bit of a flake, what can I say? As a matter of fact, I’m now convinced that Lance is doper as well. Am I the last person to believe Lance was clean? I’ve always given these guys the benefit of the doubt but the evidence and witnesses can’t be ignored.

From Lance to Landis is a great read. Definitely worth checking out. BTW, I’ve always been partial to drinking the hater-ade (thanks, for the word LJ) when it comes to Tyler Hamilton, what a dork. I’ve NEVER liked the dude. You won’t either after reading From Lance to Landis. Check it out. 2 thumbs up!
