New Formula CarboRocket

14 May

It’s finally available online at www.carborocket.com and locally at Racer’s Cycle Service, Revolution, and SLC Bike (I just made deliveries yesterday).  Currently it’s available in Raspberry Lemonade and Kiwi Lime single serve packets.  Mango, Lemon Lime and Tropical Orange should be in next week along with 25 serving bulk pouches.

I have barrels and barrels of product so it should always be in stock.   I even tossed a cool CarboRocket sticker in the package so you can decorate your car’s windows, your bike, the neighborhood stop sign or even your neighbor’s cat.

You can read all about the new formula and why it’s the bomb here.  Go ahead, check it out.  In a nut shell, the new formula is based on the original formula but adds  L-Glutamine, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium and natural coloring.

Let me know how you like it and what other shops you would like to see carry it.

Good news. I’ve enjoyed following your CarboRocket adventure – thanks for keeping us in the loop.

CarboRocket rocks, and you keep making it better. The raspberry lemonade flavor is excellent, but these new flavors sound good too – can’t wait to try them.

On short rides I’ll usually just do water, but for any ride over 1.5 – 2 hours, I’m always packing CarboRocket. It tastes good, goes down easy, energizes, no stomach upset or cramps. In short, it just works.

Brad, new formula sounds great. The Mid-Week Series (now in PC and Solitude) is starting up Wednesday the 27th (Park City, Round Valley – start at Quinn’s Junction) – interested in spreading the work at the events? Give me a shout.

Brad, I have been using Perpetuem, it works really well but I use it mostly because of the consistency, light and easy to drink at mile 80 of Rawrod. Is CarboRocket similar in consistency? Please advise. -KP

KP, Get on the CR, you can drink it all day.

Sweet. I was getting sick of the temporary pouches of other stuff I was drinking while waiting for CR to hit the shelves. Love the addition of Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium. I’m sure you’ve done your research on drinking Glutamine during a ride. Most of what I’ve heard/read recommended Glutamine as part of a recovery drink, but I’m certainly no expert on the matter. Can’t wait to try out the new stuff.

Cool. My son plays Lacrosse and likes Carbo Rocket much better than the other sports drinks. The little sucker keeps whiping out my stash. Glad to hear we should never run out again.

for what its worth, i switched to cr from perpetuem because of the consistency and its effect on my stomach. perpetuem was too thick for me and i had trouble stomaching it later in rides. my problems read similar to brad’s in terms of stomach issues and why he came up with it so when given the chance i was happy to try it out. i have absolutely no reason to ride with any other drink mix. very easy to drink and very gentle on the stomach.

Ben, I’m so happy you’re liking the rocket. I think you’ll like the new formula even more. Actually, I know you will.

Brad and Shockstar, thanks for the input, that is exactly what I wanted to know, will purchase immediately.

Loved the old formula, and I am sure the new one will be even better! I would love it if you sold it at Eddy’s bike shop, a large, well-known chain in Northeast Ohio.

Love the new formula, it has actually helped me this week as I am coming back from being sick. I also like the kiwi lime, although I think raspberry lemonade is my favorite so far. Thanks for stocking it at Racers, I will be heading over there to stock up.

Dave, When is that race? You’ll need to get some of CR in bulk.

  13. JZ May 18, 2009 at 2:52 pm #

I like the single serve packets, but I wouldn’t use a full packet for a small water bottle. At least for me that makes it a little too strong. Otherwise, I love the new and improved recipe. I dig the sticker as well. Now I am just waiting for the bulk pouch.

    • brkeyes7 May 19, 2009 at 9:54 pm #

For sure. The singles are for a large water bottle but sometimes I’ll use them in a smaller bottle as well.
